System Prompt

If you want Atua to follow a certain style or set of rules every time, this is where to set it up.

In Settings → General, you will see two prompt areas:

  • System Prompt for overall behavior across chat and commands
  • Default Command Bar Prompt for extra guidance when you open the command bar without using a saved command

Where To Edit It

Open Settings → General and use Edit Prompt in the Prompts section.

What To Put In The System Prompt

Use the System Prompt for instructions that should apply all the time.

Examples:

  • “Always respond in English.”
  • “Keep responses concise.”
  • “You are a helpful writing assistant. Keep the original tone.”

Where Context Tags Belong

The System Prompt is plain text. It does not use context tags like {{selectedText}} or {{windowContent}}.

If you want the command bar to use context tags, put them in the Default Command Bar Prompt instead.

That prompt supports:

  • {{selectedText}}
  • {{clipboardContent}}
  • {{appContext}}
  • {{currentDate}}
  • {{screenshot}}
  • {{ocr}}
  • {{windowContent}}
  • {{transcript}}

A Simple Rule

Keep the System Prompt short.

Put task-specific instructions in saved commands.

Put context-aware command bar behavior in the Default Command Bar Prompt.
